Tailored specifically to endure the extreme thermal and mechanical stresses of high-compression CNG and petrol engines, these rings deliver exceptional sealing integrity, minimal friction, and extended service life.

The top compression ring is manufactured from high-molybdenum R-SS Stainless Steel Alloy, featuring a 90-micron hard chrome coating and copper plating with extreme hardness (800–1000 HV). This minimizes cylinder wall friction, enhances heat transfer, and prevents scuffing. Its specialized Internal Bevel Top (Positive Twist) profile optimizes high-pressure gas sealing. The intermediate scraper ring utilizes phosphated cast iron with an Under-Cut Stepped Napier design to strip excess oil efficiently and eliminate oil consumption. The three-piece oil ring assembly incorporates chrome-plated steel rails and a 33-tooth German-engineered expander for precise oil film control. Certified under the supervision of DAkkS GERMANY, this kit ensures thermal stability and optimum tension even at high RPMs.

Main Functions of Piston Rings:

• Combustion Chamber Gas Sealing: Seals compression gases inside the combustion chamber to prevent blow-by into the crankcase, preserving engine power and thermal efficiency.
• Oil Film Control & Scraping: Wipes excess lubricating oil from the cylinder wall and returns it to the oil pan, preventing oil burning and carbon accumulation.
• Thermal Heat Transfer: Conducts extreme combustion heat away from the piston crown into the water-jacketed cylinder wall to prevent thermal fatigue or piston seizure.
• Piston Alignment & Friction Reduction: Maintains minimal clearance between the piston skirt and cylinder wall, reducing mechanical wear and galling.

1. Installation Guidelines:

• Verify Sizing & Clearances: Measure ring end gap (ring gap clearance calibrated at 0.25–0.35 mm) inside the cylinder bore using a feeler gauge prior to installation.
• Cylinder Bore Preparation: Ensure cylinder walls are properly honed with a cross-hatch pattern to facilitate proper ring seating and oil retention. Check for cylinder out-of-roundness or excessive taper.
• Piston Groove Inspection: Clean carbon deposits thoroughly from piston ring grooves. Ensure rings rotate freely in their grooves with correct axial side clearance.
• Ring Orientation & Staggering: Install top rings with the "TOP" marking facing up toward the piston crown. Stagger ring end gaps (typically 120° or 180° apart) to prevent inline gas or oil leakage pathing.
• Pre-Lubrication: Thoroughly coat piston rings, piston skirts, and cylinder walls with clean engine oil prior to inserting the piston assembly using a proper ring compressor tool.

2. Diagnostics & Failure Symptoms:

• Symptoms of Worn Piston Rings: Noticeable loss of engine compression/power, excessive oil consumption, dense blue exhaust smoke during acceleration, elevated crankcase pressure (blow-by), or oil residue in intake/exhaust manifolds.
• Inspection Methods: Since piston rings cannot be inspected visually without engine teardown, assess health via dry and wet cylinder compression tests or leak-down tests.

3. Overhaul & Non-Repairability:

Piston rings are non-repairable wear components. Worn or damaged rings must be replaced as a complete set during a full engine overhaul. Professional installation with precise clearance measurements is critical to prevent engine damage.
